Pilates Haus appointed us to design the new premises for their third reformer pilates studio in the Illawarra. The brief was to target a more affluent customer, therefore we needed to offer a high-end experience whilst maintaining the brand ‘Look & Feel’ from previous studios.

Lighting was the answer to the brief. The white rendered wall, linen drapery and light timber floors evoke a calm, neutral space for the client ‘to be present.’ The lighting allows the instructors to change the mood, depending on the workout, through LED strip, warm, dimmable lighting. Think: funk disco to old bangers for HIIP class, to soft, relaxing music for Stretch.

It was important that the curved ceiling design offers the clients something easy on the eye to look up at whilst working out. No lights shining in their eyes!
